PS...

Chris,

I hope you read that. Have a great life. Thats more than you deserve.

Amanda

Oh today...

So...today I found out my ex is getting married...today...in 15 minutes...haha. Poor woman he is marrying.

I don't know really what I am feeling about it. My main reaction is just "What the Fuck" (please pardon my language...it is just appropriate here). It was 3 months ago that we were all but engaged. Had my ring picked out, my parents had been asked, etc. Now, in saying this, I want to make it clear I am not sad that he is not marrying me...I am happy in fact. I mean, I wasn't allowed to have friends. I was accused of having an affair with some unknown person at the dog park. I wasn't allowed to wear certain things or go certain places. I was constantly told I wasn't good enough and made to feel pretty worthless. I realize how much better off I am now.

I am sad however, for his 3 girls (and her 3 kids also). This is not TVLand and The Brady Bunch simply doesn't exist. You can't blend families and not expect there to be some major issues, especially when one person has so little visitation anyway. Oh, and did I mention he puts work in front of his kids constantly. Oh, what an idiot!!!!!! I wish the girls had someone in their corner. He certainly isn't...leading me to my next point...

The ex wife is getting married too. Yep. Thats really where all of this stems from I think. HE can't stand for her to be with someone and he be alone. While I think she is a better parent than he, I don't know that she has earned any "Mother of the Year" awards either. Again, someone needs to stand up for the girls.

I know none of this has anything to do with me, but I can't help but feel a little betrayed. I mean, seriously? It was a matter of months ago that we were planning the same things. Seriously. He didn't even have the decency to tell me himself. What a fucking coward. He didn't want to tell anyone...everyone in his family thinks he is making a giant mistake...and he is!!!!!!

I feel a little worthless too. Not gonna lie. I am over him. I really am. I am happy with my life right now...in fact...happier than I have been in years, maybe ever. Yes. Ever. I have control over my life and I am making my own decisions. But I am SURE not read to go get married in oh, 10 minutes!!!!!! But, am I THAT easy to get over? Really? That makes me feel like crap. A big load of crap.

I give the marriage 2 years. Sad to say, but I do. Thats about how long it took before I got sick of his BS and I think she will take that long and then have to get the balls to leave him. I think she is seeing dollar signs...can't say that I blame her. He makes good money and $10-$12 an hour doesn't go very far when raising 3 kids. That will make it hard too!

Well, here's to the happy couple! I hope the girls survive and I hope I am wrong about all of this. Its time for a drink! Bottoms up!

I have followers!

YAY! I have followers! I love you guys! :-) Don't expect great and interesting things to come of this blog...it will probably be stuff you already know about me! :-)

Went to the Art Festival today. We had a great time! It was a surprising large festival for how small Houston's art community is.

Everyone I know is off work tomorrow for Columbus day...except me. BOOOOO! I think I am feeling a little sick though...;-) I may have to leave work early! Crap, after all the late nights I put in last week, I need a full day off...not just a half!

The weather here has been beautiful. I think tomorrow it may rain, but the last several weeks have started to feel like fall. I honestly feel guilty not going out and enjoying it!!!!

I am off to meet my parents for dinner. They are such good people and are helping out all of their friends in the hopsital here in Houston right now. The wanna eat in Humble since it is on their way home and I suppose I will meet them there. I really want a Victoria's Secret bathing suit...don't know why, but I do! I am probably gonna stop by the mall and check them out first. :-)

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

My first post

HELLO!!! So, I have never really done this blogging thing...well, I did once before, but I was lame and didn't actually do it. I was super cool too and had zero followers. I am not thinking I will just have a whole ton this go round, but hey...we will see!

I guess I should start by saying what is going on in my life. Hmmm...well, right now I am living in Houston, in the Galleria area. I like it down here, but I get overwhelmed pretty easily. Everyone here is so "rush, rush." It is so congested with people, cars, buildings, etc...I just feel smothered sometimes. I am considering moving out to a different part of the city when my lease is up...but there are a lot of things that have to happen first. Leading me to my next topic.

Work. I am currently working as an activity director (Life Enrichment Coordinator, fancy title...) at an assisted living facility. I live about 5 minutes from my work so I can run home for lunch if time permits. My job is a blast, I am always doing something new and interesting, but it is definately NOT a forever gig. Today we had a "fair." I was the gypsy fortune teller. I dressed in some super intense makeup and the whole crazy colored gypsy clothes! I enjoy doing things like that and planning fun activities, but I get tired of being underappreciated and making too little. In this area of the city, you have to make A LOT more than what I am to be comfortable! Another problem I have with my job is that I don't get to do my music "stuff" as much as I would like. Yes, I have free reign to do whatever I want, but I can't do music stuff everyday!!!

I DEFINATELY miss the music world. In college I was totally emersed in band, music, and everything that involved. I definately needed a break after that, but I am ready to get back into the groove...literally...haha! Yes, I know I am lame! :-) I am hoping to find a new job at some point and be more musically involved with that. Who knows. We will see what happens.

On a different note...I have the most adorable puppy ever. :-) His name is Tucker and he is a spoiled rotten Mama's boy. He is an italian greyhound and jack russell mix. Freaking cute. :-) I love him and just don't know what I would do without him! He is kinda obnoxious sometimes (like right now while I am trying to type this) but it is so good to know SOMEONE needs me and counts on me! I am a firm believer that dogs are the best self esteem boosts ever. No matter if he has been in his kennel 12 hours, if I have been gone all day, and even if I am in a bad mood, Tucker STILL gets excited to see me when I come home! AMAZING!

It is late and I am tired. Gotta love tylenol PM. :-) I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend of hanging out, football, and the doggie park. Life is good! :-)
